Payment for Services
Private Pay:
The rate for services for those who choose to pay “privately” varies from county to county. Please contact the Helpmates, Inc. office in your county (the county in which you reside) for specific rates. New rate scales may apply from year to year.
Department of Public Welfare:
Special funding is available for those who qualify through waiver programs.
Available programs include, but are not limited to:

Aging Waiver Program (for those aged 60 and above) The PA Department of Aging Waiver Program allows eligible individuals in need of nursing home care to receive their care at home. Individuals must be at least 60 years of age and meet certain financial guidelines. Individuals are qualified for the program through their local Area Agency on Aging.

Waiver Programs (for those under the age of 60) Helpmates, Inc. is a provider for multiple waiver programs of the “under 60 Waiver Programs.” Some of the home and community based waiver services provided by Helpmates, Inc. for those under the age of 60 include, but are not limited to:

Options Program
The PA Department of Aging Options Program allows eligible individuals, age 60 and above, who need help with their personal care to receive “hands on” assistance. Individuals are qualified for the program through their local Area Agency on Aging (AAA). A representative from the AAA will assess the client and determine their needs, which will be reflected in a care plan if they qualify. V.A. (Veterans Administration) Benefits for Veterans and their spouses requiring care in the home are available to those who qualify.
